Setting the Bar High.
As the first act of the play, this had a big say on what attitude or personality the main characters posses. As the first performers, this group's performance showed the future performers a glimpse on how they should act their parts. This act features a heartsick Romeo, an innocent Juliet, a responsible Benvolio, a caring Nurse and the other members of the Capulet and Montague households.
The cast had Elle Blanch as Romeo, Carmela Cachola as Juliet and Prince Escalus, Daphne Ang as Benvolio and Paris, Elise Mariano as the Nurse and Abram, Ysabel Inocencio as Lord Capulet and Gregory, Raikkah Magsumbol as Lady Capulet, Jasmin Lizardo as Samson and Mercutio. As Romeo and Juliet, Elle Blanch And Carmela Cachola were the perfect pair to play the role. Romeo's passion and emotion can be felt through Elle's words and acting. Juliet's innocence was greatly portrayed by Carmela, with her graceful movements, sweet smile, and gentle voice. The pair was able to show the beautiful chemistry between the lovers. This chemistry is very important, given that this is where it all starts. This is where Romeo and Juliet instantly fall in love. Carmela and Elle are actually known in class for being great actors. So, their performance did not let us down, and even went past our expectations.
Overall, the actors did very good and, set the bar really high for the following performers. Most of them were able to portray their roles well and showed what their characters contributed to the play.
